Shawn Woods is a Construction Waste Specialist with the Bureau of Planning & Sustainability for the City of Portland, Oregon. Shawn has been with the City of Portland for over 14 years. He has a degree in Urban Planning from Virginia Tech.

The City of Portland has taken bold steps to change the way houses are removed in the city. Learn about the city’s deconstruction program and ground-breaking ordinance that has resulted in over 150 deconstructions in two years.

BACKGROUND: This is the ninth in a webinar series presented by the Prevention Reuse & Repair Technical Council (PRR) of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA). PRR’s mission is to promote waste prevention, materials reuse and repair for the purpose of achieving Zero Waste in California and beyond. The webinar will be moderated by PRR chairperson, Shana Levy McCracken.
