Norcal PTAC Presents: Women Owned Small Business Certification | Webinar

Learn about SBA's Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contracting program, and how to use it to leverage your business!

In 2019, the federal government awarded approximately $7 billion in contacts to certified Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs). Join us to review the requirements of SBA’s Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contracting program, discuss latest changes to the WOSB certification process, and explore how to optimize and successfully complete the application on the new portal: beta.certify.sba.gov.

The SBA position all small businesses to win at least 23% of all federal contracting dollars each year by allocating set-aside contracts and subcontracting requirements. Five percent of the total set aside for small businesses is dedicated to women-owned businesses. WOSB set-asides are for industries where women have been historically underrepresented (see: eligible industries and their NAICS codes). Some contracts may be restricted further to economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSB) which adds the further requirement of income verification.

To be eligible for the SBA's Women’s Contracting program, a business must be a small business, at least 51% owned, controlled, and operated by a woman who is a U.S. citizen.
