SESSION ONE - FEBRUARY 27, 2019
Contract Types and Owner Responsibilities

In this opening session, we will discuss the different types of contracts, from lump sum to design build, and will explore the owner’s responsibilities in regards to financing disclosures, payments, and the contractor’s right to stop work.


SESSION TWO - MARCH 13, 2019
Scope of Work

In the second session, our topic will be scope of work, including the inspection and responsibility for conditions, the protection of persons and property, and warranty, uncovering and correction of work.
 

SESSION THREE - MARCH 27, 2019

Session Three will focus on all things related to scheduling, including commencement, delays and liquidated damages, and scheduling impacts, efficiency, and acceleration.

Changes in Work

Our fourth session deals with changes in work. What are the written requirements for changes? How do waivers affect changes? What about oral change orders? How do differences in conditions impact changes in work?
 
 
SESSION FIVE - APRIL 24, 2019

Risk Shifting and Subcontractual Relations
Presented by: Dan McLennon and Dino Velez
 
We will discuss indemnity and insurance requirements in this fifth session, as well as subcontract forms, choosing a subcontractor and prequalifications for same, and how to effectively communicate with subcontractors.


SESSION SIX - MAY 8, 2019
Claims, Dispute Resolution, and Termination
Presented by: Dan McLennon and Dino Velez
 
Our sixth and final session in this series will focus on claims, limitations of liability, including waiver of consequential damages and liquidated damages, claim dispute resolution methods, as well as termination and suspension.
